What is CBD Sunscreen?
CBD sunscreen combines two different products into one, making it easier than ever for you to protect your skin while in the sun. CBD sunscreen combines traditional sunscreen with nutrient-rich CBD oil. Here at Sympleaf, we use full-spectrum CBD oil that contains all of the cannabinoids that naturally occur within the plant. Full-spectrum CBD is much more effective than CBD isolates. The different cannabinoids within full-spectrum CBD are thought to all work together within the body, for more effective results.
How Does CBD Sunscreen Work?
CBD sunscreen is made up of two different components: traditional SPF sunscreen and CBD oil. What this means is that there are two different things happening when you apply CBD sunscreen to your skin.
The SPF within the sunscreen works in much the same way as regular sunscreen does, forming a protective layer between your skin and the sun’s UV rays. Sympleaf sunscreen is water-resistant up to 80 minutes.
Without water resistance, your CBD sunscreen simply washes off when you enter the water, leaving your skin vulnerable to the sun. This is a real problem if you are planning on being anywhere near water, as most people usually are when they apply sunscreen.
What Are The Benefits of Using CBD Sunscreen Compared to Regular Sunscreen?
The number one potential benefit of choosing a CBD infused sunscreen over just a regular sunscreen is that you are essentially applying two different products to your body at the same time. Having CBD and SPF within one cream saves you both time and space in your suitcase.
Combining the two products together also makes it less likely that you forget to apply one, meaning that you have less to worry about before heading out the door in the morning.
CBD sunscreen allows you to choose the areas of your body that you want the CBD to affect. If you know that your face, for example, is particularly sensitive to the sun, you can choose to only apply CBD sunscreen to that area rather than it having an impact on your entire body.
Topical CBD does not affect the internal processes within your body, meaning that the CBD you apply to your skin will not alter the dose of any other CBD products that you take for medical reasons.
While regular sunscreen does a pretty good job at protecting your skin, when you apply it correctly, for those with sensitive skin, it is not always enough to prevent damage from occurring. That’s where the CBD comes in.
